King County Metro and the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) are coordinating on the design and co-delivery of multiple new RapidRide corridors within Seattle. To aid Metro in the co-delivery efforts, Forman Consulting Services assisted with project management and engineering review services. On SDOT’s RapidRide G Line “Madison BRT” project, Forman Consulting Services provided clear documentation to define each agency’s joint construction efforts related to Metro’s assets at bus rapid transit (BRT) stations and trolley overhead catenary systems (OCS) for this FTA federally funded Small Starts Project. On Metro’s behalf, Forman Consulting Services also performed senior engineering reviews of the 90%, 95%, and 100% design plans and specifications, ensuring SDOT’s design of Metro’s stations and civil infrastructure resulted in an optimized design within the constrained urban corridor.
