Fourth Plain BRT Extension

C-TRAN

Forman Consulting Services served as the Lead Civil Engineer during the planning phase of C-TRAN’s Fourth Plain BRT Extension. The planning phase resulted in the locally preferred alternative of a 9-mile Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route and an extension of C-TRAN’s original BRT corridor served by The Vine on Fourth Plain Blvd.  This route will establish a key link between current BRT services on Fourth Plain Blvd and Mill Plain Blvd, incorporating enhancements designed to improve passenger efficiency and reliability. These features include larger buses, transit signal priority, BAT lanes, off-board fare payment systems, level boarding platforms, and upgraded station amenities.   This new BRT route also connects the Vancouver Mall Transit Center to Fisher’s Landing Transit Center. Currently, this route has few transit options; therefore, the BRT route creates a huge opportunity for new connections and transportation solutions as this area of Vancouver continues to grow and redevelop in the future.
