Stephanie was the lead design engineer for the passenger facilities and transit improvements of this highly visible project connecting Ballard to downtown Seattle. Her work included leading the civil engineering for more than twenty Metro bus zones throughout the RapidRide D Line corridor, with upgrades for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility, paving, grading, signing, striping, and demolition plans. Stephanie coordinated with property and business owners along the corridor to obtain approvals and discuss issues related to the proposed improvements. Her work also included coordinating with King County Metro and proactively coordinating multi-disciplinary issues across various City of Seattle departments, the pedestrian and bicycle group, Urban Forestry, Seattle Public Utilities, Seattle City Light, Signal Design and Traffic, and Street Use. Each bus zone was delivered independently to accelerate construction by Merlino Construction; to support that, Stephanie also designed the temporary traffic control plans and coordinated the street-use permitting with the City of Seattle.
