On-Call Transit Planning & Capital Improvements

About Project

This project provides SDOT with on-call consultant services to support the development of transit capital programs and projects.  The scope of work aims at expanding and improving Seattle’s transit network through the planning and design of Transit-Plus Multimodal Corridor projects and other transit corridor capital improvements in the City.  In support of SDOT and King County Metro’s transit planning, services have included developing sketch-level estimates of transit treatments for county-wide implementation.  Based on a review of current transit performance metrics, the project has developed a web-based tool to identify potential future transit project areas.  The cost estimates are then used to validate cost & benefits of implementing future projects.  Conceptual project designs of transit treatments such as queue jumps, transit lanes, transit signal priority, curb space management, in-lane stops, and pedestrian improvements have been proposed for areas of greatest transit improvements within the City of Seattle.
